The Dalton Board of Education is a publicly elected, five-member Board. All members volunteer their time and serve without pay

Danny Crutchfield
Danny Crutchfield began his first term of service with the Dalton BOE on January 1, 2008. A graduate of Dalton High School, he has one child currently attending Dalton Public Schools and another child who is a 2009 DHS graduate. With a Bachelor of Science in marketing from the College of Business at the University of Tennessee, Crutchfield is the Director of Corporate Training & Organizational Development for Shaw Industries as well as the Director of the Shaw Learning Academy. (The Shaw Learning Academy is recognized as a Top 125 Training Organization by Training Magazine.)

Dr. Rick Fromm
A graduate of Dalton High School, Dr. Fromm completed his undergraduate work at the University of Georgia and earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He has children currently attending schools in the Dalton Public Schools District. He is a surgeon with a Dalton medical practice. Dr. Fromm is completing his second term in office which expires in December 2011.

Tulley Johnson, Treasurer
Mr. Tulley Johnson is currently serving his fourth term on the Dalton Board of Education. A graduate of Dalton Public Schools and Georgia State University, his children are graduates of Dalton High School. Mr. Johnson is employed by the United States Postal Service and is an active member of the Dalton community. He has served in leadership positions in a variety of community organizations including the Dalton Recreation Commission, the Family Crisis Center, Boy Scouts, and many others. His current term expires in December 2011.

Mark Orr, Vice-Chairman
A graduate of Dalton High School, Mr. Orr earned a BS in industrial management from the Georgia Institute of Technology. The majority of his career experience is in the textiles industry and he is currently in sales with a company in this same industry. One of his children currently attend Dalton Public Schools and another is a 2008 DHS graduate. Mr. Orr's third term of office expires in December 2013.

Steve Williams, Chairman
Steve Williams began his service with the Dalton Board of Education in January 2002. His children graduated from the Dalton Public Schools District. Mr. Williams has a BBA degree in accounting from the University of Georgia and a JD degree in law from the same university. For more than two decades, he has been involved in the area's legal community as Assistant District Attorney, District Attorney of the Conasauga Circuit, and in the private practice of law. His term of office expires in December 2013.
