Apex Program
Accelerate Your Education. Take Ownership of Your Future.
The Apex Program is a flexible, accelerated learning option within the Cyber Academy at Dalton Public Schools. Designed for students who are already on track academically, Apex empowers motivated learners to pursue graduation on their own terms—whether that means graduating early, dual enrolling, or working toward career credentials.
This program is best suited for independent, self-directed students who are ready to take the lead in their education and who thrive in a virtual environment that provides freedom, focus, and flexibility.
What Makes Apex Different?
Apex is not just an online option—it’s a strategic, self-managed learning pathway that provides:
Accelerated graduation options
Support for students juggling dual enrollment, work, or other responsibilities
A highly flexible schedule paired with targeted academic support
A unique space for learners who don’t need the traditional high school structure
Who Should Apply?
The Apex Program may be a great fit for students who are:
On track academically (at or above grade level in credits earned)
Self-directed and responsible, able to manage time and stay on pace with virtual work
Strong self-advocates who ask for help when needed and take initiative
Motivated to graduate early or explore flexible college, work, or certification programs
Balancing external obligations, such as work, family, or specialized training
Seeking an alternative to traditional high school routines
Each applicant’s full academic and personal context will be considered. Apex is about matching students with the path that fits their goals.
Program Goals
Empower on-track students to take control of their academic path
Provide the flexibility needed for work-based learning or dual enrollment
Foster independence, responsibility, and time management
Prepare students for college, careers, and real-world expectations
Support early graduation or alternative credential pathways
In-Person Expectations
Although Apex is primarily virtual, students are not completely on their own.
To ensure progress and provide support, each student will have scheduled on-site sessions based on their course load, enrollment status, and individual needs.
Minimum requirement: 2 in-person sessions per week
These sessions may include:
Check-ins with Cyber Academy instructors
College and career advising
Academic support or quiet work time
Time for completing assessments or dual enrollment coordination
Program Enrollment
Students may apply online starting in Spring of 2025 through the Cyber Academy application portal.
All applications are reviewed by the Cyber Academy team, in collaboration with school counselors and administrators, to ensure a strong program fit. Academic history, motivation, and personal readiness will be considered.
Note: Placement in Apex is selective and based on readiness for a self-directed, flexible learning model. Students must be able to work independently and advocate for their own needs.
