Sidney Swantic

Coach Swantic is the Girls Head Volleyball Coach and Girls Co-head Soccer Coach. She is in her second year teaching and coaching at TDA. She has been a Dalton native most of her life. She graduated from Southeast Whitfield High School in 2018, where she was the recipient of multiple Division I college softball offers. She was a multi-sport varsity athlete all 4 years of high school, earning numerous region and all-area honors. She was also awarded the Physical Education Scholar Award during her senior year, encouraging her to pursue a career in Physical Education.
Coach Swantic attended The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) on a Division I softball scholarship. She played outfield there for three years and was part of a Southern Conference Championship-winning team in 2019. After graduating early and obtaining her Exercise Science degree in 2021, she transferred to Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida to work toward a Masters degree in Sport Science. She hit above a .300 average her senior year with an on-base percentage of .446, helping her team win the Sunshine State Conference Championship in 2022. Coach Swantic was a Dean’s List recipient over multiple semesters and was recognized as an Easton/NFCA Scholar All-American for the 2021-2022 academic year.
Coach Swantic is 24 years old and has no kids. She does have a fur baby named Cash, who is five years old. She is one of six siblings. She is the oldest daughter and finds that being a big sister has made the transition into teaching and coaching to be easy since she already manages her high school-aged siblings. In her free time, you can catch her walking outside, spending time with family, or getting coffee at Garmony House downtown. Go Pumas!
Assistant Coach
Stephanie Cole

Coach Cole's story starts right here in Dalton Georgia. She grew up on the other side of town, as some would say, and graduated from Southeast High School. However, her heart now lies with her athletes and students at The Dalton Academy (TDA). Adopted at the age of five, she was raised by two loving parents alongside her three vivacious brothers. Her family always supported her passion for sports, and she excelled in volleyball, basketball, and track. She was a region champion in the 200-meter dash during her junior year, but unfortunately, she couldn't complete her senior season due to the pandemic in 2020. Sports have always been a big part of her life, helping her through some of the toughest times. She firmly believes that sports provide students with a place to feel safe and belong.
Inspired by this belief, she decided to major in education at Dalton State College, aiming to shape students' lives both in the classroom and on the court as a coach. This is her first year as an assistant volleyball coach, and her goal is to empower her athletes, showing them that they can all achieve success. She is honored to be part of the effort to build up TDA volleyball and hopes to demonstrate to the students and the community the powerful impact their support can have on the athletes. So, she encourages everyone to keep them in mind and cheer, "Go Pumas!
