Welcome Non-Resident Students!

We are excited to welcome students from outside your current school zone, district, and state to apply for the 2024-2025 school year at Dalton Public Schools. This page provides all the necessary information and application forms for non-resident students. Whether you are interested in switching school zones, districts, or are from another state, you are welcome to join our vibrant and diverse school community.

Tuition Information

Please note that tuition fees apply for non-resident students. Detailed tuition information is provided below. We encourage you to review this information carefully before submitting your application.

No OOZ/OOD applications in grades 1-12 will be considered without information from the school the student last attended.

The following grades are currently closed for the 2024-2025 School Year:

Blue Ridge: 1st and 3rd grade
Brookwood: Kindergarten
Westwood- 2nd and 3rd grade

For those interested who's student will be 9-12th will need to fill out an application that is available at our Enrollment Office.

K-8th OOZ/OOD/OOS Application 24-25

Tuition Information

Students who live in the city may apply to attend another school other than the one for which they are zoned.

Students living outside Dalton’s city limits are accepted on a space-available basis. Tuition for these students is:

$75 per month for first child ($750/year)
$50 per month for second child ($500/year)
$50 per month for third child ($500/year)
$0.00 per month for fourth child
$300 per month for each child ($3,000/year) for students who live outside the state of Georgia.

DPS Employees will NOT be charged tuition for the 24-25 school year.

Tuition must be paid in advance by the 15th day of each school month, August through May. Tuition is payable to the DPS Central Office, Attn: Tuition, 300 W Waugh Street, Dalton, GA 30720. Dalton Public Schools can now accept tuition payments using a credit card, debit card or your checking account. You can access the secure online payment portal through www.schoolpay.com. A transaction and convenience fee will apply. Families who live outside the city limits but own property within the city may be exempt from all or part of the required tuition.
