School Nutrition

The Dalton Public Schools' Nutrition Department is an integral part of the educational experience, enhancing students' academic success by promoting a lifetime of healthy eating through our breakfast and lunch programs. Each of our school facilities offers meal service that adheres to USDA dietary guidelines.

In addition to serving school breakfasts and lunches, Dalton Public Schools also provides field trip lunches, after-school program snacks, and summer feeding services. These additional services have a profound impact on our students, ensuring they receive consistent nutrition beyond the regular school day. The summer feeding program, in particular, ensures that students continue to receive nutritious meals at various community locations during the summer months, keeping children well-nourished throughout the year.

Our nutrition department staff oversees multiple food service facilities, serving over ? breakfasts and ? lunches annually, along with providing ? snacks for after-school activities. Through these comprehensive services, the Dalton Public Schools' Nutrition Department plays a critical role in fostering a healthy, supportive environment that contributes to the overall well-being and academic success of our students.
