Wellness Program

The Dalton Board of Education recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are integral to students' well-being, growth, development, and readiness to learn. Dalton Public Schools is committed to providing a school environment that promotes and protects student wellness, proper nutrition, nutrition education, and regular physical activity as part of the total learning experience. In a healthy school environment, students will learn about and participate in positive dietary and lifestyle practices that can enhance student achievement.

Please review the documents below to explore our Wellness Policy and annual Wellness Plan. We encourage parents, students, and community members to actively participate in our district's Wellness Program.

Dalton Public Schools Wellness Committee

The committee convenes on an annual basis. Wellness leadership within each school is vested in cafeteria managers and school nurses. Parent volunteers are welcome to contribute to this committee. If you are interested in participating, please contact Wimberly Brackett via email.

The most recent assessment of the wellness program's implementation was presented to the Dalton Board of Education in 2023. Since then, there have been no updates or revisions to the wellness policy. We continually seek input to actively engage students and employees in initiatives aimed at enhancing mental and physical wellness, as well as ensuring safety.
