Dalton, GA – Dalton High School is thrilled to announce the launch of its prestigious Athletics Hall of Fame, an exclusive honor reserved for the elite athletes, coaches, administrators, and community members who have left an unforgettable mark on their athletic legacy. The Hall of Fame represents the pinnacle of recognition—the highest honor the athletic department can bestow, celebrating those who have achieved extraordinary greatness and shaped the very fabric of Dalton High School’s storied athletic tradition.
Categories for Nomination:
Former Athlete: An athlete must be a former student of Dalton High School or the Emery Street School and must have graduated at least six years prior to nomination.
Coach/Administrator: A coach or administrator must be retired and have served Dalton High School for at least five years.
Community Contributor: A contributor to Dalton High Athletics may be nominated at any time.
Nominations can also be received posthumously for any category at any time. Nominations should be made for any former Dalton High School students or students from the Emery Street School.

Selections will be based on the following criteria:
Contributions to the Athletic Program
Honors and Awards
Level of Competition (Emphasis on achievements during the high school career.)
Length of Affiliation
Records
Leadership
Community Involvement
Citizenship/Sportsmanship
We encourage all nominators to provide as much detail as possible regarding the nominee’s athletic success or contributions.
Nomination Process
Nominators must complete the online form located here and then submit a letter supporting the information to the Hall of Fame committee by mailing hardcopies of all information to:

To celebrate the incredible achievements of our inaugural Hall of Fame inductees, we have planned a series of special events in their honor. The festivities begin with an invitation to the exclusive Hall of Fame induction dinner and banquet, an evening that will bring together the very best of Dalton High athletics. Additionally, all inductees will be recognized in front of the entire Dalton community during the final home football game of the season.
But the celebration doesn’t end there—Dalton High School is also launching a dedicated website to serve as a virtual Hall of Fame. This platform will permanently showcase the remarkable achievements of our inductees, allowing the entire community to honor and remember their legacies for generations to come.
We are excited to invite the community to participate in this historic moment. Nominations for the inaugural class open on Monday, August 19, 2024, and can be submitted through the Dalton Public Schools website. This is your chance to ensure that those who have made a lasting impact on Dalton High athletics are celebrated with the honor they deserve.
