Dalton, GA – The Dalton Academy proudly recognizes the outstanding achievement of Logan Gibson, Rylan O'Campo, Guillermo Alatorre, and Giovanni Pineda-Lopez, the winners of this year’s 3DE Case Challenge. These talented students captivated Shaw Industries' leadership with their innovative solutions and dynamic presentation, which focused on enhancing Shaw’s talent pipeline through a strategic partnership with the Hunter Museum of American Art in Chattanooga.
The 3DE Case Challenge is designed to empower students by cultivating essential soft skills and leadership qualities. This year, participants were tasked with identifying potential organizational partnerships that could strengthen Shaw’s workforce. The winning team’s proposal stood out for its creative suggestion: Shaw could collaborate with the Hunter Museum to create artistic floor displays, showcasing the company's exciting job opportunities in a visually engaging manner.
"We were incredibly impressed with the professionalism and ingenuity of all the teams," Shaw leadership remarked. "However, Logan, Rylan, Guillermo, and Giovanni distinguished themselves through their compelling vision and exceptional presentation skills."
The students had the unique opportunity to present their proposal directly to Shaw leadership at the company's headquarters in Dalton, Georgia. In addition to the presentations, they were given an immersive tour of Shaw’s onsite showroom, where they learned about the company’s pet-friendly products and enjoyed a demonstration by the Humane Society. The day concluded with a fun and educational forklift racing activity, giving students an engaging glimpse into Shaw’s workplace culture.
The 3DE program is an integral part of The Dalton Academy’s Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) offerings. By engaging in hands-on projects and real-world challenges, students develop critical thinking, collaboration, and leadership skills, preparing them to be valuable contributors in any organization.
The Dalton Academy congratulates all participants in this year’s 3DE Case Challenge and looks forward to continuing this extraordinary partnership with local organizations like Shaw.
