Today is international dot day! Students from our elementary schools are spending the day celebrating creativity, courage and collaboration.
Here’s a glimpse inside Mrs. Harrison’s 5th grade challenge class and Mrs. Walker’s kindergarten art class at Westwood School! The 5th graders took on Dot Day-themed challenge stations, while the kindergarteners painted frames and created art to go inside them.
International Dot Day encourages creativity and self-expression, giving students the chance to connect, collaborate, and celebrate their artistic potential.

Families recently enjoyed the Little Cats Open House, where Christina Rand from GPB Education led hands-on Social and Emotional Learning activities using PBS Kids resources.
Along with these activities, families received take-home materials to continue learning at home. The event fostered collaboration between Dalton Public Schools and GPB, providing parents with tools to support their children's academic growth.
We are grateful for this partnership and the opportunity to engage and support families in their children's education.

Today marks the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month! We are immensely proud of the rich diversity in our schools and community. Join us as we celebrate and honor the vibrant Hispanic heritage that contributes so much to our shared story!

Dalton High School's HoPe (Hispanic Organization for Promoting Education) chapter showed their support for local first responders at the Battle of the Badges charity softball game. The students made posters and brought Gatorades for the participating first responders, building meaningful connections along the way. It was a special experience for everyone involved.
